Every Particular Way was an exhibition to showcase the work I made during my residency at Lightsource in San Francisco in 2023. The images were printed at a large scale to allow the viewer to feel enveloped by photographs.

Absence is the Constant is an ongoing series studying expired film. I have 40 rolls of undeveloped film that I have been developing periodically. Some of the rolls were taken by me in the last 10-15 years, some of them I inherited from my grandfather and there is no way to tell when they were taken. All of the rolls are a mystery. He was a hobby photographer, and shot film his whole life. As I have been getting this film developed I have noticed there are frames that had light leaks or were exposed, and there is no way to tell what was in the frame. I am interested in the mediums ability to rebel against it’s intended purpose: to preserve memories. We take photographs to try to hold onto a memory, but these empty spaces that replace what once was captured are beautiful, abstract, and allow the viewer to insert their own narrative into them.
